As a new year of Tough Mudder events approaches, you may be asking yourself, “am I ready to have my fail video go viral on Instagram?” The answer to this question is simple – why aren’t you already signed up for a 2023 event?
Any body type can do a Tough Mudder
People have this idea in their head that they need to be ripped to do a Tough Mudder. Is it challenging? Yes of course – there aren’t many races that require you to run 15 Km, jump into pools of ice, and get shocked by wires. Can you eat pizza on the reg and do one of these courses? Hell yeah! We encourage you to try.
The best part about Tough Mudder isn’t about how fast you finish the course, it’s about that sense of accomplishment knowing you tried something difficult and gave it your best shot. We don’t expect you to hit the bell on Well Swung on your first attempt, but we do expect you to give it your best attempt.
There are helpful people on the course
Tough Mudder has a support system that’s quite unmatched in the competitive fitness world. We believe in camaraderie and encourage participants to help fellow Mudders up the side of Everest and over Berlin Walls. Nobody is asking you to run alone, jump alone, or finish alone. When you take off from that start line, everyone around you is there to help bring you to that finish line no matter how long it takes. Mudders are very welcoming and helpful – let those around you help you accomplish the seemingly impossible. Mudders are always lending a hand to pull you up, or a shoulder to step on to give you a boost.
Chances are, there’s an event near you
We host events throughout the country all year long. There’s a chance that our next event could be near you! Want to see the world? Find an event that’s a bit farther. We’ll welcome you with the same open arms in Stratton, Vermont that we did in San Diego, California.
We challenge the idea that you need to be an athlete to complete an obstacle course. In our eyes, we’re all athletes on a mission to do better than our best. So grab your bag, running shoes, Samsung Galaxy watch, and whatever else you need to get you through the course… We’ll have a cold beer for you at the finish line. There’s a start line out there with your name on it, and 2023 is the year we hope to find you there.
